UK, EU and International Orders

UK, EU and International Orders

French Soap Wholesale supplies retailers in many countries, with orders prepared and dispatched directly from Marseille, France.

The exact delivery and tax treatment depends on where your business is located, so we’ve broken the basics down by region.

Orders within the European Union

Orders sent to EU countries travel from France and therefore remain within the European Union.

Depending on your business status and the details attached to your trade account, VAT treatment may vary.

Please make sure any VAT number or business information you provide is accurate so your order can be processed correctly.

Orders to the United Kingdom

We regularly supply retailers in the UK.

Because the UK is outside the European Union, orders dispatched from Marseille are treated as international shipments and may require customs clearance.

This means your order may be subject to:

  • import VAT
  • customs processing
  • carrier administration charges
  • other import-related fees where applicable

These charges are separate from the cost of the goods unless specifically stated otherwise.

Orders to the USA and Canada

We also supply retailers in the United States and Canada.

Orders are dispatched from Marseille and enter the destination country through the normal customs process.

Any import taxes, duties or carrier charges that apply are determined by the destination country and the nature/value of the shipment.

Other international destinations

We can ship to many other countries around the world.

Before ordering, we recommend checking:

  • whether commercial soap imports are permitted
  • local import thresholds
  • applicable duties or taxes
  • any documentation required by your country
  • whether the destination is served by our available carriers

If you’re unsure whether we can ship to you, contact us before placing your order.

Do international orders take longer?

They can.

International shipments may take longer than domestic or intra-EU deliveries because of:

  • customs clearance
  • local carrier handover
  • import documentation
  • public holidays
  • destination-country processing

Most shipments move smoothly, but customs delays are outside our direct control.

Who pays import charges?

Unless your order specifically states otherwise, any import VAT, duty, customs or local carrier charges are normally the responsibility of the recipient.

We cover this in more detail in our separate Help Centre article:

VAT, Duties and Import Charges

Will I receive tracking?

Yes, where tracking is available.

Once your shipment has been created by the carrier, tracking details will normally be provided so you can follow its progress.

International tracking may occasionally pause while a parcel is being processed by customs.

Not sure which rules apply to your country?

Email us at hello@frenchsoapwholesale.com and we’ll help with the shipping side where we can.

For specific tax or customs advice, we recommend checking with your local customs authority or accountant, as import rules can vary by country.
